Select Board · Meeting of April 21, 2026

Medfield Select Board signs override letter, approves $15,614 traffic-signal contract. The board voted unanimously to sign a joint letter with the School Committee and Warrant Committee locking in a two-year override structure, with a public forum set for April 29 and a special election, if needed, on June 8. Members also approved a $15,614 contract with Daigle Electric Construction Corp. to add and relocate traffic signals at Route 27 and West Street, a stopgap while a MassDOT-funded redesign with contractor Beta remains delayed past its original schedule.

Resident Chris Potts pressed for details on that holdup, and the town administrator said U.S. Rep. Auchincloss's office has lobbied MassDOT to move faster.

The board also appointed Carolyn Casey to the state's school designer selection panel, locked in a 12-month natural gas rate of $8.80 per dekatherm, and approved a consent agenda of liquor licenses and summer event permits. Members noted the May 4 annual town meeting needs a 250-person quorum because of the override question.
