Capital Budget Committee approves $25,000 ladder truck acquisition

Capital Budget Committee · Meeting of January 30, 2026

Medfield Capital Budget Committee approves $25,000 purchase of used Westwood ladder truck. The committee voted unanimously to authorize acquisition of a 2003 100-foot ladder to address inadequacies in the Department's 75-foot apparatus, funded from the Warrant Committee Reserve Fund. Fire Chief Bill DeKing cited recent response gaps and new development, including Rosebay and the Medfield State Hospital redevelopment, as drivers for the upgrade.

The committee also unanimously approved a revised $127,409 Tri-County Regional Vocational School capital assessment for FY2027, an increase of $64,409 reflecting growth in Medfield's enrollment from seven to fifteen students.
