Medfield Capital Budget Committee opens FY2028 cycle with $2.4 million in five-year capital requests. Chair Megan Sullivan and the committee reviewed approximately $2.0 million available in the Capital Budget Stabilization Fund against approximately $1.508 million in FY2028 departmental requests, and $1.494 million available in the Municipal Building Stabilization Fund. Major capital initiatives include Fire Engine 1 replacement at approximately $1 million planned for FY2029 and long-term Water and Sewer infrastructure needs including potential borrowing beginning in FY2029.
The committee also discussed an expedited Vadar contract for tax collection system replacement, necessitated by vendor support ending in December.
