Zoning Board continues Chase Bank parking hearing to March 4.

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of February 4, 2026

MEDFIELD — Zoning Board defers ruling on Chase Bank's parking adequacy pending Planning Board completion. Chair John J. McNicholas, William McNiff, and Jared Gustafson heard applicant testimony that 374 parking spaces would remain on Shaw's Plaza after construction—well above the projected 249-space demand despite zoning requirements of 543 total spaces.

Traffic engineer Kirsten Braun's analysis showed November peak occupancy of 233 vehicles; the Board incorporated peer-review comments and agreed to keep the hearing open until the Planning Board resolved outstanding items including fire apparatus turning radii, snow management, and complete site circulation plans. Hearing continued to March 4, 2026.
