Warrant Committee Advances Two-Year Override Model for March Vote
Warrant Committee · Meeting of March 2, 2026
MEDFIELD — Warrant Committee models two-year override spanning FY2027–FY2028. Chair Stephen Callahan presented five scenarios ranging from 2.5 percent to 3.9 percent school growth, with the midpoint option generating a $2.0 million override (approximately $567–$783 annual tax increase on average) and requiring roughly $600,000 in combined municipal and school cuts. Superintendent Dr.
Jeffrey Marsden outlined a 4.59 percent FY2027 school budget increase after tuition adjustments, with special education out-of-district tuition at $1.592 million and natural gas costs rising 67 percent. The Committee deferred formal recommendation, instead authorizing further modeling and scheduling warrant article reviews for March 10.
