Select Board approves Lowell Mason House lease and signs climate resilience grant support.

Select Board · Meeting of May 19, 2026

MEDFIELD — The Select Board approved a 15-year lease for the Lowell Mason House and signed a support letter for a climate resilience education program. Chair Osler Peterson, Eileen Murphy, and Gus Murby voted unanimously to accept the ground lease for the foundation's $98,700 accessibility addition project at 59 Green Street. On the MassEnergize PlugIN for Resilience grant letter, Murphy and Peterson voted yes, while Murby opposed, citing concerns about endorsing a private advocacy group's net-zero agenda; the motion passed 2-1-0.

The Board also approved a three-year janitorial contract with Dynamic Janitorial Cleaning, Inc., unanimously, and continued the 13 South Street demolition-delay appeal hearing to June 16 after both the applicant and Historical Commission agreed to further discussions on preservation options.
