MEDFIELD — Select Board approves restoration priorities for potential override scenarios at Town Meeting 2026. Chair Gus Murby, Member Eileen Murphy, and Member Osler Peterson voted unanimously to adopt the prioritized list, which directs how override funds would be allocated if voters approve additional revenue. The debate over proposed elimination of on-call Animal Control Officer coverage drew substantial public comment; Police Chief Michelle Guerette outlined a revised approach preserving emergency response while reducing costs through limited on-call hours and defined emergency categories.
The board also unanimously approved EMS rate increases across four categories (mileage to $47.30, BLS to $2,073.50, ALS1 to $2,971.10, ALS2 to $4,173.40) and signed a contract with Capital Strategic Solutions to administer a $170,000 downtown facade improvement grant program funded through a Commonwealth economic development earmark.
