Select Board Approves $4.5M State Housing Grant for Hospital Redevelopment

MEDFIELD — The Medfield Select Board voted unanimously to secure $4.5 million from the Commonwealth's HousingWorks Infrastructure Program for roadway and utility improvements supporting the Medfield State Hospital redevelopment project. Chair Osler Peterson and Members Eileen Murphy and Gus Murby also unanimously approved four new warrant articles for the May 4 town meeting: a literacy curriculum purchase, an override stabilization fund, a snow deficit appropriation of approximately $150,000, and a Hometown Heroes veteran banner program. The board appointed Mike Gendron as a full Planning Board member and approved $20,333 for steel condensate receiver tank replacement at Dale Street School.
The board temporarily closed public access to the State Hospital property due to construction and weather safety concerns.
