MEDFIELD — School Building Committee charted the design timeline for Dale Street School, which at 53,000 square feet falls approximately 21,000 square feet short of Massachusetts School Building Authority guidelines for a grades four and five facility. Co-Chair Carolyn Casey and the Committee outlined a three-part Preliminary Design Program through December, including educational programming sessions in mid-September and a public visioning session for September 29. The Committee will vote on a preferred design option in spring 2027, with an April deadline for Massachusetts School Building Authority submission.
The team presented detailed floor-plan comparisons showing that most existing classrooms fall below state guidelines and that the building lacks several required spaces.
