MEDFIELD — School Building Committee unanimously approves designer services request for Dale Street project. The committee voted nine to zero to authorize publication of the RFS following Massachusetts School Building Authority review, with the advertisement set for May 13, 2026. Vertex consultant Jeff D'Amico reported that MSBA feedback was minor and administrative, and a designer walkthrough is scheduled for May 20.
The committee anticipates a designer selection in summer 2026, extensive public engagement in fall and winter, a preferred option identification in spring 2027, and a community funding vote in early 2028, though D'Amico emphasized project costs will be significantly higher than previous estimates due to inflation, construction escalation, and site constraints.
