Medfield Planning Board voted to remove three dead or dying trees from public rights-of-way as safety hazards. Chair Paul McKechnie and members Teresa James, Corinne Schieffer, and Michael Gendron voted four to zero to remove a white pine from 19 Nebo Street leaning 45 degrees over the roadway, a dead pine at 19 Plain Street, and a dead ash at 83 Phillips Street. Town Tree Warden Paul Hinkley testified the 19 Nebo Street tree could bring down utility poles and damage nearby vehicles.

The board continued a subdivision hearing to August 3 and received word that Medfield would soon exceed the state 10-percent affordable-housing threshold for the first time.
