Medfield youth sports organizations turn to fall registration and summer clinics as game schedules stay quiet.
MEDFIELD -- With no varsity contests on the docket, the week's sports news out of Medfield centered on registration drives and summer programming from the town's youth leagues.
YOUTH LEAGUES -- Medfield Youth Soccer (MYS) has opened registration for the 2026 fall season, offering an early-bird discount for families who sign up now. The club, a member of the Boston Area Youth Soccer League, is also seeking volunteers to fill openings on its board of directors and continues to promote U.S. Soccer's Referee Abuse Prevention Policy, which the organization says "includes stronger sanctions for any form of physical or non-physical abuse towards referees."
The Medfield Youth Basketball Association (MYBA) closed out its season, telling families "thank you for a great season, enjoy your summer." The organization is promoting several summer clinics: the Triple Threat Summer Clinics for rising 2nd-8th grade boys, run by past and current Medfield Varsity Boys Basketball players at the high school's outdoor courts; the Medfield Girls' Youth FastBreak Summer Clinic for girls entering 3rd-8th grade, run by former Medfield player and current Amherst College player Annie McCarthy; the Superstar Basketball Clinic for grades 5-8 and 9-12 at Holliston High School; Coach Pete's nine weeks of camps for boys and girls entering 2nd-9th grade at St. Edward's Church; and a Dexter Southfield camp for ages 4-13.
Medfield Youth Hockey has its 2026-2027 registration open. The organization, established more than 50 years ago, states its mission is "providing a safe, inclusive and positive environment where every player develops a love for hockey while building skills, confidence, character and life long friendships."
