Medfield weighs fiscal overhaul with $1.95M override budget. The Warrant Committee unanimously approved both a Proposition 2½ budget and a $1.95 million override for Town Meeting in May, presenting two distinct fiscal paths. Under Proposition 2½, Medfield would face $1.43 million in school cuts and $254,000 in town cuts affecting police overtime, public works, and library services.
The override would restore most core services and create a $914,000 stabilization fund for fiscal 2028. For a $1.03 million home, the override adds $473 annually, bringing Medfield's average single-family tax bill to $13,904 — the lowest in 38 years and the 30th-highest in Massachusetts.
