Library Trustees approve State Aid funds for programming

Medfield library trustees approve State Aid allocation for programming. Chair Jessica Razza led the Board of Trustees for Medfield Memorial Public Library in unanimously approving State Aid funds for library programming through the fiscal year. Director Pam Gardner reported that Town Administration has agreed to implement budget cuts proposed in November rather than reduce Sunday hours, and that the library qualifies for flexibility in state aid requirements, allowing 15 percent spending on materials instead of the 16 percent target.
The Teen Librarian has gone on leave with a tentative return date of May 1. The board also approved removal of birch trees in front of the facility, though stump removal is needed to prepare for future planting.
