MEDFIELD — Charles River Health District board approved its December minutes and discussed a new Medical Director role involving clinical concerns. The four-town board representing Dover, Medfield, Needham, and Sherborn voted unanimously on the minutes. Board members raised liability concerns about proposed standing orders for long-acting antipsychotics; Kay Petersen, a Dover Board of Health member and physician, questioned the appropriateness of prescribing complex medications without being the managing clinician.

The board agreed to ask Medical Director candidates about the prescribing provision. The board also retained BME Strategies to develop a Regional Health Needs Assessment survey, which will include common and town-specific questions for data collection to inform grant applications and future planning.
