MEDFIELD — Zoning Board continues Chase Bank special permit hearing to April 29. The Board, with Chair John J. McNicholas, Member William McNiff, and Associate Member Jared Gustafson present, heard that JPMorgan Chase's application for the 3,293-square-foot bank building at Shaw's Plaza would reduce parking by 35 net spaces.
Applicant counsel Edward Cannon confirmed a minor Fire Chief-requested modification to parking islands and committed to submitting tenant-by-tenant parking calculations, empirical peak-hour occupancy data from 15-minute intervals, and comparisons to Institute of Transportation Engineers standards. Land Use Director Maria De La Fuente reported the Police Chief had confirmed unauthorized bus pickups at the plaza and would provide follow-up; property owner Kevin Vargas confirmed all existing tenants had consented via lease amendments. The hearing will reconvene April 29 after the Planning Board's April 14 meeting, with no need to await the Planning Board's written decision.
