Chase Bank site plan deliberations deferred pending Zoning Board ruling

Planning Board · Meeting of April 27, 2026

Medfield defers Chase Bank site plan vote pending parking relief decision. The Planning Board continued deliberations on R.K. Medfield LLC's proposed 3,293-square-foot bank building at Shaw's Plaza, with Chair Teresa James and members Paul McKechnie, Doug Larence, Corinne Schieffer, Sean Tiernan, and Michael Gendron grappling over emergency vehicle access and whether a parking island along the main access road should be curbed or striped.

Land Use Director Maria De La Fuente and Town Counsel Mark Cerel guided the Board through conditions on snow management, parking modifications, and construction. The central dispute was whether striping could be compromised by improperly parked vehicles, potentially obstructing fire-truck circulation through the site's S-curve.
