MEDFIELD — Charles River Health District reallocates $52,000 in unspent fiscal 2026 funds. The four-town collaborative comprising Dover, Medfield, Needham, and Sherborn voted unanimously March 24 to redirect the salary savings from staff vacancies into consultant services, supplies, training, and technology upgrades. Shared Services Manager Kerry Dunnell proposed increasing the Medical Director contract from $5,000 to $10,000 and funding communications consulting, reporting-system development via Smartsheet, nursing supplies, emergency preparedness restocking, signboard production, and staff technology.
The board also discussed Medfield's request for public health nursing hours and inspection software, noting that all four communities must benefit from shared services spending and that Massachusetts' free Metrik inspection system bars grant funding for similar commercial products.
