MEDFIELD — Capital Budget Committee reviewed FY2028 capital vehicle replacement requests from the Fire and Building Inspection departments. The Fire Department requested approximately $81,600 to replace the Fire Chief's 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe command vehicle, citing seven to ten year useful life for command vehicles. The Building Inspection Department requested approximately $37,000 to replace a 10-year-old Ford Explorer with a Ford Maverick hybrid, though the committee expressed interest in examining less expensive configurations and evaluating electric vehicle options pending charging infrastructure development.
