Medfield's Capital Budget Committee reviewed departmental vehicle requests for fiscal 2028. Fire Department requested $81,600 to replace the Fire Chief's 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe command vehicle, with vendor quote of $77,900 adjusted 5 percent for price increases. Fire Chief Bill DeKing noted the recently acquired Westwood ladder truck was operational and Engine 1 was declared surplus, shifting ladder replacement to FY2032 and a $1 million engine replacement to FY2029.

Building Inspection requested $37,000 for a Ford Maverick hybrid to replace a ten-year-old Ford Explorer. The committee asked staff to clarify vehicle specifications, explore electric options, and develop standardized reporting on usage and maintenance. Police Department presentation was rescheduled due to the Police Chief's illness.
