MEDFIELD — Capital Budget Committee postponed a vote on non-building capital projects, directing departments to reprioritize after learning free cash would be substantially below assumptions. Information Technology Director Eoin O'Corcora presented town and school technology capital needs, including a telephone system upgrade revised to $85,000 total (up from initially approved $50,000), network infrastructure upgrades, and security camera replacements. Chair Megan Sullivan noted that available free cash for FY2028 was expected substantially below earlier projections, leaving requests exceeding available resources.
The committee approved September meeting minutes, 4-0-1, and scheduled deliberations for October 9 with potential voting on capital priorities October 16.
